Just a month after the world-renowned literary festival, the book town of Hay-on-Wye turns its attention to its appetite – welcoming an array of local food and drink producers. Offering the best produce from Mid Wales and the Borders, the Welsh Government-funded Hay Food Festival on Saturday, June 30 is a definite diary marker for anyone of a culinary persuasion.
From 10am onwards around 50 of the best local food producers will transform the Memorial Car Park in Hay Town Centre into a dazzling al-fresco marketplace bursting with Welsh flavour. Among those tickling the taste buds of visitors this year will be Aber Valley Fruits, Blaenafon Cheddar Company, Breconshire Brewery, Caroline’s Real Bread Company, Coity Bach Produce, Cradoc Biscuits, Elan Valley Meat Company, Graig Barn Organics, Llanfaes Dairy, Love Patisserie, Neuadd Fach Baconry, Pip’s Cider, the Sweet Cupcake Company, the Welsh Venison Centre and the Welsh Whisky Company.
So if you fancy sampling the delights of Wales, a little bit of everything, or just tucking into your favourite ice cream, this will be the place to be.

This fantastic event also underlines the National Park Authority’s ongoing support for our local food network – which appears to be going from strength to strength, and is something this area can be really proud of.”
