The Rivers Wye and Usk are in crisis. In fact, their phosphate levels are among the highest in Wales — causing year-on-year water pollution and damage to the plant and animal life that reside there. Here at Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park, we’re on a mission to help save them — but we need your help.
Alongside the intensive work we’re doing to find high-level solutions with farmers, water companies, the Welsh Government, and organisations like Natural Resources Wales — we also need to minimise the impact of household and business waste.
That’s where you come in.
We’re asking the people of the Bannau to pledge their allegiance to the rivers — by promising to love them and by making some everyday changes that will help us in our wider mission to improve water quality. We have listed our suggested household and business changes in a Checklist, here — but the list is non-exhaustive!
By signing the pledge, you will become part of a community that is dedicated to preserving the improving the health of our beloved rivers — for current and future generations. Remember — your voice has the power to create a ripple effect of positive change. Let’s make a splash, get our voices heard, and gain the support we need to make a difference.
Meanwhile, you can register to learn more about the wider work we’re doing to solve the river pollution crisis, here.
So, thanks in advance for pledging to #LoveOurRivers. Together, we can save them.
