Working in partnership with Bannau Brycheiniog National Park Authority, Good Food Wales Ltd has organised the Farmers’ Market at Craig y nos Country Park from 11am- 5pm with over 10 stall holders selling regional local produce from home cured bacon to Welsh jams and chutneys.
Some of the confirmed stallholders include the Welsh Cheese Counter (selling Nantyabwla and Teifi cheese); Dickendale Farm Welsh meats; In-a-pickel jams chutneys and preserves (who are proudly launching their new range of curds made with Welsh butter and free range eggs); The Unusual Food Company’s bakery stand; The Olive Counter and Treehuggez (selling their popular range of Welsh crafts and handmade jewellery).
Richard Levy, Visitor Centre Manager for Bannau Brycheiniog National Park Authority said: “This is a fantastic community event for the Upper Swansea Valley giving visitors and residents the perfect opportunity to buy fresh produce direct from local farmers and businesses in this area.”
Paul Brandon, co-organiser of Good Food Wales Ltd said: “We are absolutely delighted to host our first Farmers’ Market at Craig y nos Country Park. This is an exciting new location for the Good Food Wales group to promote our range of Welsh food and crafts. We’re looking forward to giving local people and visitors a chance to take home a true taste of Wales.”
Good Food Wales Ltd has organised two more Farmers’ Markets during 2008 with the others planned for the Bank Holidays on Monday 5th May and Monday 25th August.
