The 2018 main tourist season is rapidly approaching and Bannau Brycheiniog National Park Authority in partnership with Bannau Brycheiniog Tourism have organised a tourism focused conference to take place on Wednesday 7th February at Llangynidr Village Hall, starting at 9.30am.
The morning conference is aimed at businesses engaged in tourism and will provide fundamental information and inspiration for the coming year. Claire Chappell, Head of Brand at Visit Wales will introduce the national tourism marketing campaigns – ‘Down to the Sea’, ‘Wales Way’ and ‘Year of Discovery’.
There will also be workshops, a presentation about what has been achieved and an evaluation of the press activity in 2017. Bannau Brycheiniog National Park Authority will provide updates on some of their key projects in the National Park including the Black Mountains Land Use Partnership and Atlantic Geoparks, and there will be discussions about topical issues.
The conference will be chaired by the new Chief Executive of the National Park Authority, Julian Atkins, who said; “This is a great opportunity to network and discuss the main tourism related issues within Bannau Brycheiniog National Park. We are looking forward to welcoming as many of the tourism businesses in the Park as possible. Along with our partners in Welsh Government we have many projects to present and would encourage businesses to get involved. Local economic sustainability is one of our key objectives and we understand the importance of a unified tourism industry.”
