Bannau Brycheiniog National Park Authority are pleased to announce that they have appointed Julian Atkins as their new Chief Executive Officer, Julian will take up the post on 1st February 2018.
Julian is currently the Countryside and Land Management Director at the park and Authority members voted unanimously following an extensive recruitment campaign and a very competitive selection process which included some very strong external candidates.
John Cook, the current CEO at Bannau Brycheiniog National Park Authority will retire early next year and over the next three months will ensure the hand over runs smoothly and efficiently.
Mel Doel, Chairman of Bannau Brycheiniog National Park Authority, welcomed Julian to the post, stating; “We are delighted that Julian has been appointed to this key post, we are confident that the strength and leadership skills shown in his career with us to date and during the selection process will stand him in good stead to meet the challenges ahead.”
Mel also praised current CEO John Cook for his contribution, she said; “I would like to take this opportunity to publicly thank and praise John for the outstanding work he has done over the last ten years, transforming this authority into the vibrant and respected authority that it is today.”
